| Actually, you are absolutely wrong on your first point. The Arizona Z Club, and its associates ARE responsible for finding sponsorships for ZCON. Each ZCON is managed and administered by the hosting club. It is 100% up to them to recruit sponsorship, and manage the budget for that years ZCON. If there is a shortfall, the ZCCA can (and will) step in and recruit additional sponsorship as needed. The only sponsorship that ZCCA manages today is Nissan. Moving forward, there has been discussion around having ZCCA maintain the relationships with larger sponsors. This has largely been in response to some of the issues last year. Many sponsors (large and small) were not even contacted about participating in ZCON. Long term I agree that it is in the best interests of the ZCCA and ZCON to have these managed at the 'corporate' level. I do not believe that taking your ball and going home is going to have the desired result in the long term. The petition has proven that ZCCA members do not want AMS as a sponsor. If those that signed it simply boycott, the response will be "it doesnt matter, because those people don't come to zcon anyways". Helping to find alternative sponsorships, whether those be grass roots or corp. will ensure that the hosting club is not punished by the community as we look for a long term resolution.
